In this episode Josh joins Fady Hanna, Radiology Marketing Director for Bayer Canada and together they discuss the current status of the use of mammography in Canada and some of its limitations. This leads into a deeper dive into the potential role for MRI for breast cancer screening of women with dense breast tissue and recent studies that have investigated this issue. The studies discussed include the DENSE trial as well as a sub-analysis of the GEMMA trials that compared the sensitivities of breast MRI with mammography for detection of breast cancer in women with varying degrees of breast density.

Vicki Sorhaindo is the Interventional Radiology Manager and QC Manager for Central Zone in Halifax, she joins Carmen Kraft, Regional Sales manager from Bayer. Vicki discusses her role and her career so far, she started as an X-ray tech and worked her way up to manager level in a number of different modalities. Vicki says there are a lot of good days in her job and feels so fulfilled when she's helped someone. Her team developed a new way to improve their service by building 4 rooms with great success to the benefit of patient care.
